Alexandra Beckstein is the CEO and General Partner of QAI Ventures, a unique venture capital firm and QuantumAI ecosystem builder. Under her leadership, the fund invests in transformative technologies demonstrating early market fit in industry clusters such as Industrials, Life Sciences, and Finance, with a focus on Pure Quantum Technologies, solutions at the intersection of QuantumAI, and Advanced Computing innovations across the value chain. In parallel, she serves on boards that promote innovation and access to capital in Switzerland.
With an academic background in geoscience and business, she brings a unique scientific perspective that bridges sustainability, energy, climate, and data-driven innovation. Before entering the VC sector, Alexandra built her career at the intersection of technology, energy and infrastructure. She advised on data-driven business models and digital platforms and served as a specialist to the Swiss government on the safety of critical energy infrastructures. An entrepreneur herself, Alexandra founded and managed a construction and consulting firm for geothermal systems, overseeing planning, execution, and project management. Earlier roles included leading a shallow-geothermal engineering team and serving as a project engineer on industrial plant-development initiatives. By leveraging both capital and hands-on venture building, Alexandra is redefining the role of a VC: not just funding startups but actively shaping the ecosystems they need to thrive. She is also a recognized keynote speaker, author, and advisor on strategies for frontier technologies in Switzerland, promoting innovation, sustainability, and access to capital.
